also known as Babushka or stacking dolls, nesting dolls, Russian tea dolls, or Russian dolls they are a set of wooden dolls of decreasing size placed one inside another. The name matryoshka, literally "little matron", is a diminutive form of the Russian female first name "Matryona" (Матрёна) or "Matryosha".
So there are 25 of them the smallest is 1/2" the largest is almost 18" they are quite beautiful there is writing on the bottom and a price tag from years ago that says $982.00. If u youtube a video on how they are made it's quite impressive . This is authentic hand made , as well as hand painted.
